Training Description

Length: 1 day

Objectives: At the end of this training, the student will master the concepts required to configure a distributed Wi-Fi environment managed by a CAPsMAN controller under RouterOS v7.13 with the “Wireless” package.

Target Audience: Telecommunications Engineer and Technicians wanting to deploy and support a centrally managed Wi-Fi  infrastructure.

Course prerequisites: The student must have a good grasp of RouterOS and the 802.11 standard. An MTCNA certificate is an advantage.

Language: This session and course material are offered in the language shown in the schedule.

Notice: A second router is required.

  • Module 1 – Introduction
    • What is a CAPsMAN and what does it do?
  • Module 2 – Configuring a CAPsMAN
    • Differents parameters of CAPsMAN
      • Rates, access lists, security profils, channels, configuration, provisioning, manager
  • Module 3 – Configuring a CAP
    • Layer 2 and layer 3 CAPs
  • Module 4 – Local Traffic
  • Module 5 – Updating CAPs
    • RouterOS
    • Firmware
  • Module 6 – The labs
